Funeral Service For Alpheus Finlayson, 76 a resident of Cable Beach will be held on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church, Montrose Avenue. Officiating will be Archdeacon Kingsley Knowles assisted by Rev’d Fr. Ivan Eldon. Interment will follow in The Eastern Cemetery, Dowdeswell Street.
Alpheus was predeceased by his parents: Alpheus and Diana Finlayson Sr.; his brother: Joseph Finlayson; sister: Viola Wimbish, and of course, his wife: Dawn Finlayson and sons: Levaughn and Wayne Finlayson.
Alpheus is survived by his daughter: Alexis Hanna; son-in-law: Khalid Hanna; brothers: Roosevelt and Spence Finlayson; sisters-in- law: Glenalee Strachan and Iris Finlayson; grandchildren: Shandia Finlayson, Ebony Howell, Nasir, Sadiq, Selah and Noah Hanna; great-grandchildren: Ki’Yah Major, Malachi Finlayson and Eva Howell; nieces and nephews: Diana, Douglas, Victor, and Michael Wimbish, Oscar (Tamissa) Finlayson, Nathan Yungerberg, Laurena and Kwame Finlayson, Leannka Rigby and Misty, Kentrel and Kyle Strachan; grandnieces and nephews: Gabrielle, Jonathan, Oneisha, Dikaios, and Omari Finlayson, Chino Ferguson, Kirsten Campbell, Nathan Lewis and Kayden Strachan; the families of the late: Hasten Finlayson, Vernice Finlayson-Rolle, Muriel Finlayson-Rolle, Birdy Finlayson-Wallace, Joyce Roberts-Miller, George Deveaux, James Deveaux, Manassah Deveaux, Louise Deveaux, Irene Deveaux and Maxwell Turner; aunts: Cynthia Finlayson-Grant and Maria Forbes; other family and friends: family of Cynthia Finlayson-Grant, family of Maria Forbes, Marjorie Rolle-Stuart, Neka Finlayson and family. Relatives and Friends may pay their last respects at Butlers’ Funeral Homes and Crematoriuin, Ernest and York Streets on Friday, October 6th, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 from 10:00 a.in. until service time.
