    DEACONESS MAVIS STRACHAN

    A Service of Praise and Celebration for the Life and Witness of DEACONESS MAVIS STRACHAN, 85 affectionately called “Mammy” a resident of Garden Hills #2, who died on Sunday, 31st December 2023, will be held on Saturday 20th January 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Southwest Cathedral Church of God, Carmichael & Shrimp Roads. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Anthony A. Sampson, assisted by other Ministers of the Gospel. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens & Mausoleums, John F. Kennedy Drive.
    Precious Memories will linger in the hearts of her Seven daughters: Prenetta Antonio (Lawrence), Shirley, Sharon Cleare (Rev. Allan Jr.), Renia Moncur (Allan), Alice, Permal and Patricia Strachan; Five sons: Shanda, Kervin (Natasha). Erlin (Raquel), Marvin (Raquel) and Principal Officer Marcus Strachan; Sisters: Mrs. Gwendolyn Pinder, Mearuth Ferguson of Grand Bahama, Paulette Arnette and Maryann Strachan; Brothers: Leroy, Felix Jr., and Thomas Strachan; Sisters-in- Law: Rev. Beatrice Stubbs and Victoria Missick; Grand children: Monalisa Williams, Megan Antonio (Cassandra), Nicole (Deron) Samantha and Candice Antonio, Police Inspector Tavares Pratt (Delika), Geno Mackey (Eldri), Jeremy Strachan (Chantel) Shalese Strachan, Gr.     Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Newbold Brothers Funeral Chapel, Palmetto Avenue & Acklins Street off Market or East Streets, on Friday 19th January 2024, from 10:00 a.m., to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m., until service time.
