Death notice for Joseph Emmanuel Taylor, 88 passed away at his New York home on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
Originally from Staniard Creek, Andros, Bahamas “Joe” moved to the United States as a young man. He became an American citizen and remained in New York City where he lived and worked for over 50 years.
He enjoyed a decades-long career as Supervisor, Captain, and Maitre d’ at prestigious venues, including The Royal Box at the Americana Hotel, The Chef’s Restaurant, The Coach House, and The Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Plaza.
He was predeceased by his father: Edward Taylor; mother: Mildred King; daughter: Donella Allen; son: Kevin Strachan; sisters: Rose Taylor-Butler: Thelma Taylor-Foulkes; brother: Kenneth Taylor.
He is survived by his daughters: Linda Taylor: Judith Dawkins; stepson: Ernest Taylor: grandchildren: Fanchon and Faraji Dawkins; great-granddaughter: Nyla Dawkins; son-in-law: Bernard Dawkins: numerous nieces and relatives including: Loretta Butler Turner; Deanne Penn; Wendy Foukles; Joy McMillan; Donna Jorge; Joan Wilson; Rose Marie and Kevin Fox; Joan Sturrup: Betty Edwards; Thema Stuart; the Taylor- Butler family; the Wilson family and a host of nephews, cousins, godchildren relatives and friends.
