    Timothy Neill

Death notice for Timothy Neill, 77, born in Nassau on December 30th 1948, was the second of four children of Sidney and Frances (née Taylor) Neill.
As a child he enjoyed sailing, swimming, building treehouses and spending time with friends. He began his educational journey at St Andrew’s School in Nassau then attended The Langley School in Norfolk, England. An intelligent and creative soul, he studied architecture at Northern Polytechnic University in London and became accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects. He would go on to partner with his father as Neill & Neill Architects in West Palm Beach before returning home to start his own practice, Timothy H Neill Architects in Abaco.
Tim loved his family and would do anything for them including providing a year’s salary so that his daughter could stay at home for his granddaughter’s first year of life. As a grandfather, he set the standard: full of support, encouragement, silliness and fun while instilling the value of education and compassion. He was a talented and adventurous architect, designing St Francis De Sales church in Marsh Harbour, The Abaco Club at Winding Bay, The Delphi Club, a houseboat called Full Circle, as well as private homes around the islands. (He even designed and ran a beach bar called Yahoe’s on Lubbers!) We take comfort knowing that the beautiful buildings he assiduously designed will be part of his legacy.
Tim was rarely seen without a loyal dog at his side. Both Buster & Scratch were his family and they shared a deep and devoted bond. He valued nature and preserving our beautiful environment, as well as researching his rich Bahamian heritage. He genuinely cared about others and was known for helping anyone in need, in any way he could.
We will miss his quick witted ability to find humor in most situations, his love of music (especially Ronnie Butler), spontaneous dancing, and his vast knowledge on a broad range of topics.
Tim was predeceased by his parents and his brother Andy. He is greatly missed by his daughter: Harmony Thompson Son in law: Craig Thompson Granddaughter: Soleil Gates Sisters: Celie Perleberg and Susan Corrado Brothers in law: Gary Perleberg & Kevin Corrado Nieces: Ashley Peters, Margo Perleberg Nephews: David Perleberg, Ethan Corrado, Colin Corrado and grand nieces & nephews. Special friends including: Dave, Christine Sawyer, Donnie Wood, Dey Dey, Phil Bailey, Stone McEwan and the Little Harbour crew.
A celebration of life will take place in the summer in Abaco.
