Death notice for Cabell O’Brien, 85 A Nassau resident of over 30 years passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, at her home in Snead’s Ferry in North Carolina surrounded by her loved ones.
She is predeceased by her husband, John Kenneth O’Brien, also of Nassau.
She is survived by her 2 daughters: Catherine O’Brien Williams (Mike) and Sheila O’Brien Shamel (Todd); 4 grand-children: Alexandra Williams Schilder (Casey), Elizabeth Williams Cherry (Jacob), Nathan Shamel, and Catherine Shamel; 2 great-grand-children: Bradley Schilder and Benson Schilder; siblings: Nat Robb, Jr. (Wesie) and Zan Polhill (Mark) and sister-in-law: Mary Alice “Sissa”Wassitsch (Pedro) of Nassau.
Cabell was an avid bridge player and actively involved as a volunteer with Nassau’s sailing regattas. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
