Death Notice for Captain Dugald Campbell McNab went to his eternal home to be with his heavenly Father on June 28th, 2024.
Dugie was born on the 29th of July, 1931, Dunchologan, Lochgilphead, Argyll, Scotland. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Jane (Jeanie) McNab and his brother Niall. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years Margaret, his son Douglas (Connie), daughter Nicola (Brian) and grandson Campbell McNab.
Dugie was a Captain in the British Merchant Navy and went on to Pilot over 6,000 ships in Aden, S. Yemen and Libya before moving to the Bahamas to serve as the Vice President and General Manager of Nepco Towing Co. (Marine side of BORCO) from 1970 1981. Dugie’s love for ships and his passion for – piloting was so strong he would go on to pilot ships for South Riding Point Holding until 2007 when he finally retired at the age of 76!
Dugie was a member of the Lucayan Presbyterian Church for 54 years. He served as an Elder, Treasurer, Session Clerk and served as a voluntary theological reference for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Dugie’s priorities and loves were his triune God, Margaret, Douglas and Nicola, their spouses and his grandson, Campbell, the wee Kirk in Lucaya, his art, the Bahamas, his native land and the music of the Great Highland War Pipe.
