Death notice for Mr. John David Albury, 85 of Eleuthera, Bahamas passed away on Saturday, September 21st at Princess.
Margaret Hospital. He was born in Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas, the son of the late Ronald Albury and Marion Albury. In addition to his parents. David was preceded in death by his brother. Jimmy Albury. He is also survived by his wife Jeannie with whom he enjoyed sixty-four years of inseparable marriage. He completed his primary education at Saint Andrews (Toronto, Canada), and his secondary education at Lynchburg Baptist College (Lynchburg, Virginia). He was a successful entrepreneur whose career spanned several Nassau-based businesses, including Bahamian Lumber, Ronald A. Albury Ltd., and Michael Anthony Jewelers. In his youth as a world class amateur bowler. David placed fourth in the 1965 Tournament of the Americas representing the Bahamas as its top-ranked bowler. But David’s greatest passion was making disciples for Jesus Christ. In 1978, he abandoned all his business interests to relocate his family to Lynchburg. Virginia and earn a college degree in Biblical Studies from Lynchburg Baptist College (now Liberty University). With that education, he returned to the Bahamas to lead several churches and ministries in advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In his final days, he played a material role in helping and supporting Camp Bahamas, where hundreds of Bahamian youths have been introduced to and baptized into faith in Jesus Christ. Over his lifetime. David supported, both financially and prayerfully, countless missionaries to the Bahamas, America and throughout the world. His life was marked by making known the free gift of God’s forgiveness of sin through the punishment, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God the Son (John 3:16). The Bahamas, and the world has been. blessed immeasurably by David’s life. David is survived by wife, Jeannie Albury: sons. Dave Albury (Lisa), Richard Albury (Andrea).
