He is survived by his wife: Mavis Walkes; daughters: Lemia and Elizabeth Walkes; step daughter: Lethera (Shanley Sr.) Bodie; sons: Emmanuel, Daniel and John Walkes Jr.; granddaughters: Daniya and Emmania Walkes, Skylar Rahming and Rebekah Bodie; grandsons: Joshua Walkes, Joel and Shanley Bodie Jr.; sisters: Patsy Ferguson, Janet Gray and Betty Walkes; brother: Ben Walkes; numerous other nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
