
Death notice for Ida Mae Ginter, 89 passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on the afternoon of August 11, 2026.
Mae was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, relative, and friend. She is survived by her daughter: Monica (Kellie) Ginter, her son: Manfred (Sonia) Ginter, her three grandchildren: Manfred, Lusca, and Jason and her great grandson: Julian. She also leaves behind her siblings, Norma Francis, Ernesto (Pauline) Rivero, and Margaret (Karim) Awe; numerous nieces and nephews; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and a circle of close and dear relatives and special friends who were blessed to know and love her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband: Manfred Erwin Ginter; her parents: Ernesto Lewis and Margaret Reina Rivero; and her sisters: Sister Bernardes, Wilma Rivero, Hazel Rivero, Olga Gabb, Jean Locke, Daphne Craig, Shirley Rivero and Yvonne Dettioff.
Mae moved to The Bahamas from Belize in the 1960s, beginning a new chapter in a place she would come to call home. While working as a receptionist at The Towne Hotel, she met Fred, the love of her life. What began as two separate paths soon became one beautiful journey, filled with love, family, friendship, and shared dreams. She was a skilled businesswoman and the driving force behind the many ventures she and Fred built together, including Princess Beauty Salon and the Swiss Pastry Shop.
Mae leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, hard work, generosity, and unforgettable memories. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
She will be remembered, cherished, and loved always.
Funeral Service was held Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
